What's new β October 2026
- Registration is pay-then-create. Nothing is recorded until your payment goes through, so a cancelled checkout leaves nothing behind. Registering in several states? Apply to all selected fills the date and nexus type for every ticked row. β 7. Jurisdictions
- Fulfillment locations. The Filings page lists the places you ship or sell from, and managers can add one. Its code is what goes in the LocationCode column of your uploads. β 8. Filings
- Officers: "US citizen?" The person officer form asks the question first and takes a Social Security Number, an ITIN or a passport number accordingly. Removed officers are kept on file so HOST can restore them. β 4. People
- Approving returns. Each row shows its period dates and total remittance, a rejection needs a reason of at least 20 characters, and returns you did not approve stay listed under Being reworked while HOST corrects them. β 8. Filings
- Import has its own page, Import Transactions. The upload window, the wizard (which opens on a mandatory How it works step), Import history with its four-step bar and Remove button, and the review all live there; Transactions is just the table of imported rows. β 9. Transactions
- Roles. Viewers see a View only pill and no edit buttons, a Contributor role sits between Viewer and Manager, and managers can change a teammate's role from Settings. β 2. Organizations Β· 13. Account Settings
- Signing in. Clearer login errors, a Resend confirmation email button for unconfirmed addresses, and an email change that must be confirmed from both the old and the new address. β 1. Getting Started
- Blank official forms. Where a jurisdiction needs a state form (for example the Utah TC-51), the Documents page and the registration window link to the official blank. β 5. Documents
- This guide is in the app. The Support page now opens with a card for every section and work instruction here. β 15. Help & Resources
- MFA is authenticator-app only. The Phone (SMS) option is gone; Set up MFA opens the QR code directly. β 14. Multi-Factor Authentication
- Also live since September: QuickBooks Online alongside Shopify and Stripe (10. Integrations), the live portal-login check and the registration health check on Filings (8. Filings), referral rewards of a $250 gift card plus $750 account credit (11. Referrals), and API keys with a one-time production data review (12. API Keys).

π What is the Sales Tax Center?
The Sales Tax Center is the client portal for Hands Off Sales Tax (HOST), a managed sales tax compliance service. It's where you keep your business details current, ask HOST to register you in new states, hand states over for managed filing, send HOST your monthly sales data, and approve the returns HOST prepares before they're filed and remitted on your behalf.
Who is this for?
- Businesses that use HOST to register for and file sales tax
- Accountants and bookkeepers who look after several client businesses
