Intro

Please use this guide to configure two-factor authentication (2FA) on your state online accounts if directed to do so by HOST.

Why do I need to set up 2FA?

HOST needs to access your state online accounts in order to file sales tax returns on your behalf and complete other contracted services. Some state websites require two-factor authentication (2FA) when logging in, which means a verification code is sent to an email address each time we access your account. We need this code to complete the login process.

What email address should I enter as the 2FA email?

Please use the email address that HOST has configured on your behalf. This is typically an email address ending in @handsoffsalestax.com or @taxmatrix.com. If you are unsure of the exact email address to use, please contact HOST.

Email forwarding

We also configure the HOST email address to forward all messages to your own email address, so all required 2FA codes will be sent to both you and HOST. If you are asked for a 2FA code during the setup process, please note that it will be forwarded from the HOST email address to your email address. If you are unsure which email address is being used for forwarding or would like to change it, please contact HOST.
