We highly recommend checking your Liability Summary each month. If you do not reply to our Liability Summary email during the 2 day review window, your returns will be filed exactly as they are outlined in that email.
If you discover an error after your return has already been submitted, please let us know as soon as possible. Our team will then work with you to find the best solution for you. If your return requires an amendment, you may be charged an additional HOST amendment fee, and may also be assessed a penalty and/or interest by the state.
If you have additional requests regarding your returns, it is best to let our team know early in the month so that we can make the proper adjustments. Examples include: special event sales that were not included in your normal data, a request to remove certain transactions, requesting to file returns without payment, etc.
We will remit payments using the bank account information provided to us during your HOST onboarding. It is important that you ensure there are no debit blockers on your account - if we submit a payment to the state and the payment is rejected or reversed, you will incur additional penalties from the state.
If you have a change of bank account information, please let us know as soon as possible; once your payments are submitted, we will be unable to stop payments from processing.
Each state has different procedures regarding how and when they receive and process payments. In some cases, we will schedule remittance payments for the states’ due dates (see due dates below). In others, the payments are scheduled to withdraw on or around the date your return is submitted. Once your payment has been scheduled, we will not have control over when it will post and reflect in your bank account.
Our filing processes and procedures are all designed around meeting the states’ filing deadlines. Below are the filing due dates for each state:
