How to use the HOST app for Stripe

Note: This guide is for users of the payment processing software Stripe who wish to interact with HOST directly from their Stripe account. All HOST clients, regardless of whether or not they use Stripe, can still use our HOST Sales Tax Center. For more information on that client portal, please refer to our guide on getting started on the HOST Sales Tax Center.

From the Stripe App Marketplace search for the app called Hands Off Sales Tax. Or, you can find out app link here.

Install the app by clicking the Install app button and following the prompts.

You will be prompted to review the security information and permissions requirements before installing.

Once installed, the application will be accessible from within the Stripe dashboard, where all installed applications are available (in the top-right corner of the dashboard).

The app will then open to the right side of the screen.

To add a registration for HOST to complete, ensure you are on the Sales Tax Overview page, and then click the + New Registration button. Follow the prompts to request registrations in the state where you need them.

If you see a state grayed-out (like Alabama is in the above screenshot), that means HOST already has registration details on file for the state.

After you have entered the requested information, click the Go to Summary button. On the following page, review the details and submit the project.
