An organization is one business entity, identified by its 9-digit EIN. Your user account can belong to several organizations, and everything you see in the app — jurisdictions, filings, transactions, people — belongs to the organization currently selected in the top bar.

/org-create — also reachable from the organization menu in the top bar/select-orgThe first time you sign in with a new account, the app takes you to Add your organization. You need two things:
Click Continue. (Already belong to another organization? The links under the form let you Switch organization or Sign out instead.) One of three things happens:
| Result | What it means | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Organization ready. | The business was created, or you were already a member. | Nothing — you're taken to the Dashboard. |
| Enter your verification code | HOST already has this EIN on file, but nobody manages it in the app yet. A 6-digit code has been emailed to the address on file for the business. | Type the code to prove you control that inbox. See Claiming a business below. |
| We're waiting on a manager | HOST already has this EIN on file and the business already has managers in the app. They've been emailed approval links. | Wait for a manager to admit you. See Claiming a business below. |
<aside> ⚠️
The EIN and legal name can't be changed afterwards from inside the app — they're locked on the Company Profile. Double-check both before you click Continue. If you made a mistake, contact support.

If your EIN matches a business HOST already works with, you don't get a duplicate — you claim the existing record. Which path you get is decided automatically.
