After you create an organization, ResaleCertify drops you on a four-step setup wizard. Until you finish all four steps, the regular app sidebar is hidden — the wizard is the only thing on screen. Once you complete it, you're routed to the Certificates dashboard.

Where this lives

URL: /setup

The wizard is gated by ProtectedRoute allowsIncompleteOnboarding — i.e. you must be signed in and have an organization, but the org need not be fully onboarded yet. New users land here automatically right after /org-create succeeds.

Wizard layout

Four expandable steps stacked vertically:

  1. Company Information — the business details that appear on every certificate
  2. Jurisdictions — the states where your business is registered to collect sales tax
  3. Vendors — the businesses you'll send certificates to
  4. Authorized Officer — the person who will be named as the signer on certificates

A progress indicator at the top shows “N of 4 complete.” Steps you've finished are checked; the next incomplete step is auto-expanded when you arrive.

Step 1 — Company Information

This is the most important step — every certificate ResaleCertify generates is built from the data on this form.

Fields

Field Notes
Legal Business Name Locked after first save. Contact support if it must change.
EIN Locked. Set during /org-create and never editable from this screen.
Company Contact Email Appears on certificates and HOST invoices.
Company Phone Just digits, no formatting needed.
Street Address / City / State / Postal Code / Country Headquarters address of the business.
General Description of Products Sold Short, headline-like (e.g. “Wholesale electronic accessories”).
Detailed Description of Products Sold Longer; some states inspect this to validate the resale claim.

Tip: write the detailed description as if explaining your business to a sales-tax auditor. Avoid generic phrases. The more specific you are, the smoother your certificates clear vendor verification.

Step 2 — Jurisdictions

Add every state where your business is registered to collect sales tax. You'll need each state's sales tax account number (sometimes called “seller's permit number”, “sales tax permit number”, etc.).
