Two-factor authentication adds a 6-digit code from an authenticator app to your password at sign-in. It's optional but strongly recommended, especially for managers.

Where this lives

Settings โ†’ Security โ†’ Set up MFA (/mfa/enroll). At sign-in, the code prompt is /mfa/verify.

Turning it on

  1. In Settings โ†’ Security, click Set up MFA.
  2. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy and similar) and scan the QR code, or copy the code shown under Or enter this code manually.
  3. Type the 6-digit code the app shows and click Verify & enable MFA.
  4. You'll see "MFA enabled successfully". From now on sign-in asks for a code.

Signing in with MFA

After your password, the Two-factor authentication screen shows six boxes. Type or paste the code โ€” it submits itself on the sixth digit. A wrong code clears the boxes ("That code didn't work. Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app."); try again with a fresh code. Too many wrong codes in a row shows "Too many attempts. Please wait a minute and try again."

Turning it off

Settings โ†’ Security โ†’ trash icon โ†’ Remove factor. Removing a factor signs you out of all devices; sign back in and re-enroll if you wanted to move to a new device or app.
