Sidebar → Help & Tools → Referrals (/referrals). The Refer a business tile on the Dashboard is a shortcut.

Referrals belong to you, not to an organization — the same list shows whichever business you have selected.

Sending an invite

The Referrals page: the reward banner, the five counters, the invite form and the referral list with stage badges.

Under Invite a business, enter the owner's email, and optionally their first name and a personal note (up to 1,000 characters; a counter under the box keeps track).
Click Send invite. They receive a signup link pre-filled with their address, and you see "Referral invite sent to …".

An address is refused (with the reason shown under the field) if it's your own, already has an account, or you've already referred it.

Tracking

The five counters — Total invited, Signed up, Active, Filing clients, Rewards to claim — sit above the list. Each referral shows its highest stage:

Stage	Meaning
Invited	Email sent.
Signed up	They created an account.
Active	They're using the Sales Tax Center.
Filing client	They're an active managed-filing client on a paid plan — rewards unlock.
Not eligible	The referral no longer qualifies; the reason is shown.

Claiming rewards

The two halves are claimed separately:

Claim $750 credit — applied to the billing account of the organization currently selected in the top bar. You must be a Manager of that organization; everyone else sees a credit awaiting a manager badge on the row instead of the button.
Claim $250 gift card — sent to your own email. No organization needed.

Once claimed, the row shows Credit claimed and/or Gift card claimed.
